The National Institute on Money in State Politics describes itself as "a nonpartisan, nonprofit program dedicated to accurate, comprehensive and unbiased documentation and research on campaign finance at the state level." Their web site, Followthemoney.org, provides a campaign finance database that can be searched by specific businesses or individual contributors and by state, region, or the nation as a whole.
