Accessing Articles and Other DatabasesALADIN databases are available for use only by current GW students, staff, and faculty. You will be prompted to enter the barcode number from the back of your GWorld ID card (it begins 22882) or your GWid before you can access Gelman Library's online databases from off-campus locations. From the ALADIN Home page
From Bookmarks or Links Within the Gelman Home PageIf you access the databases directly via bookmarks or URLs that point directly to the database site and do not go through the ALADIN menu, you will receive an ALADIN login prompt when you click on the link to the database. Follow the instructions to enter your last name and ID number and click the Continue. This will bring up the database you selected. Accessing Online and Electronic JournalsYou can search for e-journal subscriptions for Gelman Library in the ALADIN Catalog. Search by the title of the journal. Entries for e-journals will include a link to the web site where you can retrieve articles. You may also click on the WRLC e-Journals button on the right side of the main ALADIN page to find out if GW has an online subscription to a particular journal. Search by the title of the journal. You must first be logged on to ALADIN to see use this option. You must be logged on to the ALADIN home page before you can access any journals. See the instructions above on Accessing Articles and Other Databases. NOTE: Some online and electronic journals may not be available remotely. Some of Gelman Library's subscriptions to certain online and electronic journals may only be accessed on-campus.
