The first half largely gives the background and history of mutual funds. The second half (actually an appendix) contains a variety of statistics on the mutual fund industry.

Value Line Investment Survey. 1984-.

This provides statistics and concise analysis of companies and industries, including mutual funds in three relevant sections: "Investment Co.(Domestic)", "Investment Co. (Foreign)", and "Investment Co. (Income)". Each section is updated quarterly.

Reports statistics about various aspects of the mutual funds industry (not on particular funds). Such items as sales and redemptions, exchanges into and out of funds, and total assets are covered. For many items, there is a break-down by type of fund (e.g. precious metals, aggressive growths). Published by the Investment Company Institute.

Provides "interest/principal payment data..."

Investment Companies Yearbook. Annual. 1952-60, 1963-2001.
Location: HG 4497.7 .W47
Describes the policies, provides extensive statistics over a number of years, and gives the directors and other information for the various investment companies (mutual funds, closed-end, etc.). Introductory chapters describe the industry in general. There is a quarterly supplement. Published by CDA/Wiesenberger.

International Guide to Securities Market Indices.

This provides profiles and some statistical data on each of the many indices covered, including a number for mutual funds.
