Use these indexes to find articles in periodicals.
To access databases with a location of "ALADIN", click on the title of the database. To see a list of databases available through ALADIN, go to the ALADIN Home Page. Under "Databases by Title" on the right side of the screen, choose from the three alphabetical groupings.
ALADIN databases are available for use only by current GW students, staff, and faculty. If you are using this page from off-campus, you will be prompted to enter the barcode number from the back of your GWorld ID card before you can access the database.

- Business and Industry Database. 1994-
Location: ALADIN
This index covers "leading trade magazines, newsletters, the general business press and international business dailies" from different countries and in a number of languages. For all articles there are substantive abstracts in English and the full text is available as well for most of the English language articles. This is a particularly good source for information about companies, industries, products, and services.
- Factiva.

This provides the full text of newspaper and business magazine articles. The emphasis is on news rather than scholarly articles.
- Lexis-Nexis Academic Universe.
Location: ALADIN
This provides mostly full text of articles in many newspapers and general interest and some business periodicals. The emphasis is on news rather than scholarly articles.
- Leisuretourism.com.
1976.
Location: ALADIN
Indexes hospitality, leisure, recreation, sport, tourism and cultural industries
literature, including books, chapters within books, and periodical articles.
Useful key words are special events, festivals, conference tourism, and conference
facilities. There is a paper version, Leisure, and Tourism Abstracts (REF
GV 191.6 .R86), that covers 1976-1998.

Business Research Network. 1995 -.
Location: ALADIN
Covers literature about the sporting goods and sports marketing industries.

Portfolios on reserve can be identified by clicking on "more search options"
near the top of the library home page and then on Course Reserve, and then choosing
in the department box "GW-TSTD: Tourism Studies." Not all the items
listed will be portfolios.
Visit Gelman Library's Department of Special Collections, which houses The
Event Management and Marketing Archives. This archives includes a variety of
collections of primary and secondary source materials of scholarly and historical
interest.
