The Special Collections Department at Gelman Library catalogs and preserves collections of written, visual, and audio material to support diverse research and scholarly work. Areas of collecting interest include African-Americana, Judaica, Media and Journalism, Rare Books and Maps, University and District of Columbia History, and a Washington Writers' Archive.
