• African-Americana Research Center – supports Africana study and research by all scholars.

• China Documentation Center – a central repository of scholarly Chinese language publications concerning the military, national security, and foreign relations of the People's Republic of China.

• I. Edward Kiev Judaica Collection – An extensive collection of primary sources for research in the Bible, rabbinics, Jewish philosophy, liturgy, and Hebrew literature.

• Media Resources – The audio/video collection of the Gelman Library.

• National Security Archives – collects and publishes declassified documents acquired through the Freedom of Information Act.

• Global Resources Center – a reference and research collection focusing primarily on the post World War II political, economic, and military affairs of the Russian Federation, Ukraine, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, China, Taiwan, Japan, and Korea.

• Special Collections Research Center and University Archives - collects, preserves, and makes accessible primary resources and rare materials to researchers within and outside the GWU community. The University Archives is the official repository for GW's records, and the gateway to its past.

• Taiwan Resource Center - a collection consisting primarily of history, politics, economy, public policy, national security, and foreign relations of Taiwan in Chinese, English, and Japanese languages.
