Gelman Library System - Alumni Resources Gateway

"The mission of The Gelman Library System Development Office is to ensure continuous financial and in-kind support for resources and services that satisfy the current and future research, curricular and information needs of GW students and faculty."

Jack A. Siggins, University Librarian

At The Gelman Library System, we have tried to maintain continuity with the past, present and future. Instead of rushing to blindly acquire resources in the newest formats, we have tried to maintain a balance between the need for electronic resources and the need to maintain our book collections. We have placed our emphasis on acquiring and preserving materials for our general and special collections that might otherwise be lost through deterioration. We actively seek out such unique resources as manuscripts and photograph collections, as well as rare books and maps, all needed by our students and faculty members for original research.
