Session 1: July 13-20, 2009 in Ashburn,
VA
HOL 263-Foundations of Human Resource Development
How individuals and groups learn and interact within organizations
and how organizations function and learn.
HOL 283-Leadership in Organizations
This course provides an overview of the seminal works, contemporary
theories and models, and explores some of the emerging perspectives
in leadership. The goal is to expose participants to the various
ways in which leadership has been conceptualized over the past
half century, and to discuss how it will be shaped in the future.
Session 2: October 18-22, 2009 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil
HOL 290-Organizational Learning
Learning in an organizational context. Processes through which
the organizational system learns, unlearns, changes, and disseminates
information. Organizational learning theories address the processes
and barriers to gathering, developing, and retaining knowledge
in organizations.
Session 3: January 17-21, 2010 in Hong Kong
HOL 269-Organizational Diagnosis
The assessment of organizational conditions, including collection
and interpretation of information, operations, and problems (human,
structural, and systemic). Course participants collect and analyze
data to provide solutions to enhance organizational effectiveness.
Session 4: April 18-22, 2010 in
Cape Town, South Africa
HOL 274-Groups and Teams in Organizations
Exploration of the nature of work groups and teams as they are
used in organizational settings. Students will gain a better understanding
of group/team dynamics, facilitation skills and group roles.
Session 5: May 31-June 4, 2010 in
Budapest, Hungary
HOL 286-Issues in Human Resource Development
Current issues and topics of importance in the field. Students
gather data and analyze key topics associated with subject areas
like globalization, diversity in the workplace, organizational
development, and ethics.
