Dr. Ellen Goldman Dr. Goldman
is an Assistant Professor of Human and Organizational Learning
and directs the Master Teacher Leadership Development Program,
a partnership between GSEHD and the GW School of Medicine and
Health Sciences. She teaches courses in the certificate, masters
and doctoral HOL programs. Dr. Goldman came to academia from a
30+ year career in healthcare consulting, assisting clients with
strategy formulation; mergers and acquisitions; growth initiatives,
and board and leadership development. Dr. Goldman has worked with
over 300 hospitals and healthcare systems nationwide, and published
three books and numerous articles on healthcare strategy-related
topics. Her dissertation, which won two Academy of Management
(AOM) awards, concerned the development of the ability to think
strategically among healthcare CEOs. In addition to teaching at
GW, Dr. Goldman serves as core faculty for the American College
of Healthcare Executives. Dr. Goldman’s current research
interests include adult and organizational learning related to
strategic thinking and leadership development; and student learning
and faculty development in medicine and the health sciences.
