Global Knowledge Management Initiative

The Global Knowledge Management Initiative (GKMI) is a partnership between GW's GSEHD Executive Leadership Doctoral Program and the GW Institute for Knowledge and Innovation. GKMI activities address three objectives: research collaborations, educational initiatives, and practical application of organizational learning and KM scholarship.

CSL Executive Education Seminars

CSL provides not only workshops and training, but also Executive Education seminars for Professional Development in the areas of Leadership, Culture, Action Learning and Organizational Change.

Korean Global Leadership Seminar

The Center for the Study of Learning hosted a group of Chief Learning Officers from Korea for a Global Leadership Seminar. Dr. Clyde Croswell and Dr. David Szabla facilitated several interactive sessions to discuss personal leadership styles and assist in the development of competency models for the participants’ organizations. Dr. Liliana Meneses served as the CSL liaison to partner with KRIVET (Korean Research Institute for Vocational Education and Training).

Graduate Certificate in Global Leadership in Teams and Organizations

A four-course graduate Certificate in Global Leadership in Teams and Organizations is being offered by the Human and Organizational Learning Department. This program is designed to increase the learning, leadership, and change capacity of individuals and organizations with a global emphasis in Human Resource Development. Theory, research and practice are balanced throughout the curriculum. The program allows you either to pursue a certificate or to take courses as electives. The program takes place at the Virginia Science and Technology Campus in Ashburn, VA, with classes alternating at affiliate sites in Asia, Europe and South America. Certificate highlights include:

  • International experience
  • Each session will be completed in one week
  • Curriculum includes international company site visits and cultural exchanges
  • World-renowned faculty and local guest speakers

This program benefits mid to senior level executives who are charged with leading in international and multinational organizations. The learning design moves participants beyond knowledge to developing their own global competence through actionable learning in various locations around the world.

Current students looking for interesting electives may take the individual courses for their Masters or Doctoral Programs.

Executive Leadership Doctoral Program

The Executive Leadership Doctoral Program (ELP) in Human and Organizational Learning (HOL) was created to help meet the complex learning challenges facing organizational leaders as they enter the 21st century. The program focuses on the interrelationships among people, organizations, and learning while utilizing systemic change processes. Students gain a greater understanding of their own leadership skills and strategic vision necessary to guide their organizations through continual change.
