Getting Around
GW’s location in northwest Washington makes it very easy for students to get around the city. Many of the things that undergraduates want and need are within walking distance of our two campuses.
Students can easily explore the city and be involved in internships and work-study because of our proximity to Washington’s businesses, government agencies, private companies, research groups and think tanks.
GW has its own Metro stop, which links students to shopping malls, airports, and the train station. Easy alternatives include the city’s extensive Metrobus, taxi, Zipcar and Smartbike systems. Day trips to Philadelphia, New York and Boston are simple and affordable using one of the many daily bus systems with pick-up locations across the city.
