Applying is easy. Just follow the guidelines below and contact us if you have any questions.

Eligibility

Mini-courses are open to rising 10th, 11th, and 12th graders.
The 6-week program for credit is open to rising seniors.

International students may enroll in these programs. GW will issue an I-94 certificate of eligibility for qualified international students requiring an F-1 visa for the 6-week credit program.

Application Requirements

  1. Application form (2010 application will be available in late fall)
  2. 500 – 600 word essay explaining why you are interested in coming to a pre-college program and why you have chosen your particular course
  3. Official high school transcript 
  4. Two recommendations: one from a teacher and one from a guidance counselor
  5. $40 application fee
  6. Optional - copies of test scores (PSAT, SAT, ACT)

Application Deadline: May 15

Early application is encouraged as courses fill quickly. Your application will be reviewed when all components are received. Late applications are accepted on a space-available basis. Summer Scholars admission does not imply admission to The George Washington University.
