Apply for Admission
The George Washington University expects all applicants for non-degree status to submit their application online. The online system maintains your confidentiality through the assignment of a personal identification number. It also allows you to complete the application at your convenience.
A non-refundable application fee of $25, payable by credit card (MasterCard/Visa), is due at the time of online application.
There are no application deadlines, yet we recommend that applicants apply as early as possible and before the semester begins to avoid any late registration fees.
Note that it is not necessary for non-degree applicants to include references, test scores and transcripts. You will be notified about your admission via e-mail within two business days. At that time, you will be assigned a GW ID number or sent notice of your old ID number. You must use the GW ID number to register for classes.
School Without Walls and Center for Talented Youth students should contact their program coordinator via e-mail.
High school applicants must contact Zakaree Harris, assistant director for undergraduate admissions, and complete the paper version of the application.
For those unable to apply online:
• Download the paper application, pick one up in Phillips Hall 412 or ask the Office of University Students to mail you one.
• Completed applications should be sent to the Office of University Students via e-mail, fax or mail with the non-refundable $25 application check (if applicable).
• Checks should be made out to: The George Washington University.
