Types of Fellowships & Scholarships
At the graduate level, fellowships and scholarships are interchangeable terms for merit-based awards, for which no service is required. The Office of Graduate Student Assistantships and Fellowships (OGSAF) can provide general information and assistance on graduate support opportunities.
GW University Fellowships
Graduate students may apply for a variety of internal awards that involve a stipend and/or tuition award based on academic achievement.
External GW Fellowships
External fellowships are awards are funded by foundations and organizations outside of GW. Most of these programs carry fall deadlines and provide funds for the next academic year.
Study Abroad Fellowships
Graduate study abroad programs promote cultural understanding though language study, work-study, academic study, research or internships.
