SEAS ALUMNI HELP JUDGE SCIENCE PROJECTS
|
Fifteen alumni of the School of Engineering and Applied Science (SEAS) served as judges at five local science fairs in the metropolitan D.C. area throughout the months of March and April. SEAS alumnus Manouchehr Soheily, BS ’79, organized alumni participation in the fairs, and alumni judged the science projects of junior high and high school students, recognizing more than 60 for their project designs.
To honor the students recognized by the alumni judges, the Engineer Alumni Association (EEA) and SEAS Dean Timothy Tong hosted a reception on April 19th at the Cloyd Heck Marvin Center. More than 25 students and their family members attended the reception. Students received a small gift from SEAS and had the opportunity to talk with Dean Tong, current engineering students, and SEAS alumni to learn more about the school and its community.
Thanks are extended to the following SEAS alumni who participated as judges at the five local science fairs: Ken Dymond, MS ’79; Bob Fulcher, BS ’57, MEA ’67; Bill Holt, BS ’57; Art Howard, BS ’63; Orron Kee, BS ’57; Bob Kemelhor, BS ’49; Kim Kessler, BS ’99; Kristy McDonnell, BS ’99, MS ’01; Rachel Miller, BS ’03; Michele Motsko, Graduate Certificate ’03; Tejbir Singh Phool, MS ’04; Gayle Rubin, MS ’82; Manouchehr Soheily, BS ’79; Michael Souryal, D.Sc. ’03; and Sean Walsh, BS ’79.
