Lee and three of his four children are current students at GW, and all of them will graduate in May. Lee, his daughter Julie, and his son Phillip, are each studying for a master’s of science degree in systems engineering, while his daughter Michelle is enrolled in a bachelor’s program in GW’s School of Business. The Lees have another daughter, Allison, who is in elementary school. President Trachtenberg and Dean Tong noted the connection between GW and the Lee family, and Dean Tong quipped, "Even their youngest daughter Allison, in 7th grade, is just a few years from graduating from GW."

At the dedication ceremony, Lee stated that he is honored to be part of the GW community. "Many great people have graduated from this University and made a great impact on the world", he said. "I hope that I, and my family, can continue that tradition." In 1986, just seven years after emigrating to the U.S. with his wife and daughter, Lee founded STG, Inc. A provider of information technology support services to government and industry, STG now has more than 1,350 employees and consultants operating in more than 250 locations worldwide, and it is the largest Asian-American-owned systems integrator in the United States. Lee is the president and CEO of STG.
