JOIN THE CAREER ADVISOR NETWORK

When you decided to embark on your first job, contemplated a career change, or considered a move to a new city, wouldn't it have been nice to have had some expert advice? The Office of Alumni Programs is pleased to introduce the Career Advisor Network, GW's newest alumni mentoring program. A dynamic element of the GW Alumni Online Community, this interactive feature allows alumni to share important career advice with students and with other alumni online!

The Career Advisor Network, co-sponsored by the Office of Alumni Programs and the University Career Center, enables alumni and students to connect with one another for professional networking and career advice purposes.

Becoming a career advisor enables you to reconnect with the University and help students and other alumni advance in their chosen occupations or discover new ones. Students reap the benefits of your career knowledge and have an opportunity to interact one on one with established professionals. The Career Advisor Network is also flexible – alumni advisors can update their profile information, adjust their mentor preferences, and even limit their availability directly through the Alumni Online Community.

Serving as a mentor for current GW students is an excellent way to give back to the University, and it doesn’t take much time! Current advisors include lawyers, educators, journalists, engineers, and business professionals, to name a few, but we don't want to stop there. We need you!

Join the network by clicking on the Career Advisor Network link on the left hand menu of the Alumni Online Community. After you've logged into the community you'll be prompted to complete an advisor profile. If you have not already registered for the community, the Login/Register page will guide you through an automated registration process. The success of the Career Advisor Network depends on you! If you have questions or require assistance in registering please contact the Office of Alumni Programs at 202-994-6435 or e-mail alumolc@gwu.edu.
