VICE PRESIDENT FOR ADVANCEMENT APPOINTED
President Stephen Joel Trachtenberg has announced the selection
of Laurel Price Jones as vice president for advancement. She
will lead the University’s
fundraising campaigns and oversee the diverse programming of advancement
and alumni relations. Price Jones is thrilled to be at GW, stating
"GW is hot; everything you read shows you it’s
on the move. The University has a terrific story – increasingly
selective in terms of students and faculty, strong and active alumni,

DEAN HARRY HARDING STEPS DOWN FROM POST
Dean Harry Harding of the Elliott School of International
Affairs has announced that he will step down from his post on June 30,
2005. Dean Harding served for over ten years and has seen the School through

AVIATION SAFETY & SECURITY CERTIFICATE PROGRAM
GW’s Aviation Safety & Security Certificate Program will
hold its spring session from May 9 –19. The program offers
college credit and includes five two-day courses and a case study
and is open to alumni. Instructors are experienced professionals

CLASS OF 2005 ANNOUNCES
SENIOR CLASS GIFT
The senior class is pleased to announce this year’s senior
class gift: The Class of 2005 September 11th Scholarship Fund. Days
after the class of 2005 arrived at GW, the attacks of September
11th occurred, affecting each student profoundly. The gift establishes
a scholarship to be awarded annually to a rising senior who is in
active military service, a veteran, a first responder, or to a son
or daughter of one of these individuals. It will recognize and honor
the courage of the men and women who served our country on September
11th, 2001, and who continue to serve.
CLASS OF 2003 BRICKS INSTALLED
IN UNIVERSITY YARD
Beginning in 1990, each graduating student had a brick engraved
with his or her name and degree placed on campus. The class of 2003’s
bricks are now laid on the raised terrace in front of Lisner Hall,
and we hope that you will take a look at your brick the next time
