SENIOR ASSOCIATE DIRECTOR OF ADVANCEMENT
CORPORATE AND FOUNDATION RELATIONS


The George Washington University seeks a senior associate director of advancement for corporate and foundation relations. Reporting to the executive director of advancement for corporate and foundation relations, the senior associate director researches and cultivates prospective corporate and foundation funders, writes and edits proposals, and manages major foundation and corporate partnerships for assigned sectors. Working with the executive director, the senior associate director develops comprehensive strategic plans for corporate and foundation support of GW programs, schools, and research activities, and establishes and maintains mutually beneficial relationships with corporations and foundations.

The senior associate director works closely with other development officers and academic departments to ensure a coordinated effort in support of the Advancement Division’s mission.

The requirements are a Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience; a master’s degree is preferred. At least five years fund raising experience, 3 to 5 years of which are in a major gift capacity and/or corporate and foundation relations. Broad-based, in-depth knowledge of fund-raising in an academic and/or non-profit institution is preferred. Exceptional oral and written communication skills and an ability to successfully manage multiple, complex projects is required. Salary is commensurate with experience.
