Colonials
Weekend – the Biggest Alumni Event of the Year!
|
It's
that time of year again – time to reconnect with fellow alumni and
friends at Colonials Weekend, October 15th – 17th. The Office of
Alumni Programs, the GW Alumni Association, and the Office of Parent Services
have been working all year to make the year's weekend memorable for everyone.
Most events are FREE! Don't miss this year’s exciting additions.
-
Kick-off Party – Start the weekend off right on Friday evening
at Alumni House. The Kick-off Party, which specifically honors the
classes of 1994 and 1999, is open to alumni of all ages. The festivities
begin at 7:30 p.m. – be there!
- Colonials
Village – Kogan Plaza is the hub of activity on Saturday. Stop
by and see live student entertainment, sample foods from around the
world, witness an old-fashioned political debate between GW's College
Democrats and College Republicans chapters, and visit the many hospitality
tents with information about class and club reunions and activities.
-
Patti LaBelle and Dana Carvey – Be sure to catch the headline
entertainment of the weekend: renowned singer Patti LaBelle on Friday
evening and comic Dana Carvey on Saturday. Visit https://gwired.gwu.edu/tickets/
for information on how to purchase tickets. [Editor's note: Dana Carvey
is sold out.]
In
addition to these events, Colonials Weekend features those traditions
alumni have grown to love – the Colonial Lecture
Series, numerous class and club reunions, campus walking tours, sports
events, and deans’ receptions. Colonials Weekend 2004 promises to
be the best ever, and it's only days away!
ALMOST
EVERYTHING IS FREE AND THERE IS STILL TIME TO REGISTER—DON’T
