New Directions Conference XXIX

Dean Mary Futrell of the Graduate School
of Education and Human Development (GSEHD), along with the Alumni Council
and Phi Delta Kappa, invite you to discuss "Education and Human Development:
Past, Present and Future" at GSEHD’s annual gathering of educators,
administrators, counselors, students, parents, faculty, and alumni. The
conference, part of GW’s Colonials Weekend 2004, will be held on
Saturday, October 16th, 8:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. at GW’s Elliott
School of International Affairs, 1957 E Street, NW. Breakfast and lunch
will be served (free to pre-registrants).
This 29th annual New Directions Conference
features keynote speaker Dr. Belle S. Wheelan, Secretary of Education
for Virginia, who will address the future of schools of education. The
speaker will be followed by strategic seminars and workshops that will
examine the significance of schools of education yesterday, today, and
tomorrow.
