South Florida Alumni Reception with Chief Justice Barbara Pariente
The GW South Florida Regional Alumni Chapter will host a reception in honor of Florida Supreme Court Chief Justice and GW Law School alumnae Barbara Pariente on September 23rd in West Palm Beach, Florida.

Chief Justice Pariente rose to national prominence during the Florida Presidential election cases in 2000, when she sat as an associate justice on the Florida Supreme Court. She has since publicly battled cancer, and in the process become one of the nation's leading advocates for cancer research and the rights of cancer survivors. She was sworn in as chief justice in July 2004.
