ANNUAL SILENT AUCTION AT COLONIALS WEEKEND

In 2000, the Office of Parent Services at The George Washington University began an annual Silent Auction to raise funds to support the Senior Class Gift Campaign, and has raised over $15,000 for the campaign since that time. As you may already know, the Senior Class Gift Campaign is an important fund-raising effort that is orchestrated and executed by the seniors themselves. The funds raised in this annual campaign are utilized to improve the University and to leave a lasting legacy from each graduating class.

This year, the proceeds raised from the Silent Auction will be donated in support of the Senior Class Gift and to a University community-service project.

We invite you to participate in this year’s Silent Auction during Colonials Weekend 2004, by making a donation and bidding on items. The auction will be held on Saturday, October 16th in the Great Hall of the Marvin Center from 1:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. In the past, alumni have donated tickets to sporting events and the theatre, gift certificates to restaurants, and other personal items. Each item will be assigned a minimum bid and the auctioning will begin at that price. We appreciate anything that you can give to support this program, and we hope you will attend this fun event.

If you would like more information, or if you would like to make a donation to the Silent Auction, please contact John Winters, coordinator of the Silent Auction, at 202-994-2305 or at parents@gwu.edu.
