MESSAGE FROM MORY

Greetings Fellow Alumni --

As we close out another academic year, it’s worth taking note of all of the alumni who volunteer to make GW a better institution. Alumni volunteer to serve as admissions representatives, mentors to current students, organizers of alumni programs, and as members of alumni organizations such as the GW Alumni Association and the school alumni organizations. On behalf of a grateful University, I want to thank all of our alumni volunteers. At the annual meeting of the Alumni Association on June 9th we will be honoring 4 individual alumni with the Alumni Service Award for their service contributions -- Marilyn Gowing (CCAS), Robert Kemelhor (SEAS), Joseph Kiehl (ESIA), and William Quinn (GWSB). Their biographies and contributions appear below.

I would also like to take this opportunity to thank Robert Efrus, who has served this past year as President of the GWAA. Under Rob's leadership, the GWAA has expanded its programming to include new student outreach initiatives and increased programming in the Washington, D.C. area. President Efrus also stewarded the Association through transitions in the University administration, leaving the Association in a strong position to begin the next year. Rob, on behalf of more than 200,000 GW alumni worldwide, thank you!

Finally, I am proud to announce a new affiliate membership program with the prestigious Princeton Club in Manhattan. Under this affiliate program, GW alumni may join the Princeton Club, as well as earn reciprocal privileges in clubs nationwide. This program was made possible by the leadership of the New York Regional Alumni Chapter, and is described below.

Best wishes for a restful summer!

Sincerely,

Scott M. Mory
Executive Director of Alumni Programs
