||||||||||||||||||||||
2004 International VSA arts Festival June 9th-12th Join us for the 2004 International VSA arts Festival June 9th-12th as artists with disabilities from around the globe gather in the Nation's Capital for a four-day extravaganza showcasing their talent and artistic excellence. The Festival is held once every five years, and it is Washington D.C.'s turn to be turned into a giant canvas and one big stage. Venues for the Festival include the Kennedy Center, the Smithsonian, Union Station, the Millennium Arts Center, and some open-air spaces throughout the city. During the Festival, you can enjoy a variety of performances including music, dance and theatre as well as an array of visual arts and interactive arts activities. We invite you to share your time and talent with the Festival - in return, you are sure to have an amazing experience! There are many ways for you to participate as a volunteer, including as a festival ambassador or as a workshop coordinator. You can also work in artist relations, production, PR, conference services, or help with one of the many interactive arts projects for children and adults. With participants coming from dozens of countries around the globe, there will also be a need for volunteers in American Sign Language. You can volunteer for just one afternoon or for the whole four-day run of the Festival! Contact Lisa Martin, Volunteer Coordinator at (202) 628-2800 (x3883) or at lisam@vsarts.org if you would like to become a volunteer. VSA arts is an international nonprofit organization founded in 1974 by Ambassador Jean Kennedy Smith. Nearly five million people with disabilities participate in VSA arts programs every year through a network of affiliates in every state and over 60 countries worldwide. Mark your calendars for our 2004 International VSA arts Festival here in Washington, D.C. June 9th-12th, 2004. Check out www.vsartsfestival.org for details on this exciting event. Dare to imagine! |
