ENGINEER ALUMNI ASSOCIATION SEEKING VOLUNTEER JUDGES FOR REGIONAL SCIENCE FAIRS |
|||||||||||||||||||||
The George Washington University Engineer Alumni Association (EAA) is looking for School of Engineering and Applied Science alumni to volunteer as judges for science fairs in the Washington, D.C., region. The purpose of EAA involvement in local science fairs is to encourage youth to consider the science and engineering professions, increase awareness of opportunities in these fields, and to promote GWU and SEAS. All science fair winners and their parents will be invited to a Dean's reception to be held in April at the Foggy Bottom Campus. Students and parents will have the opportunity to visit the School of Engineering, meet Dean Timothy Tong, members of the faculty, current students, and alumni. The EAA will participate in the following regional science fairs: Arlington County/Alexandria/Falls Church - March 13; Fairfax County - March 13; Prince William County/Manassas - March 13; District of Columbia - March 20; Montgomery County - March 27; and Prince George's County - March 27. For more information on how to get involved with the EAA or to volunteer as a science fair judge, please contact Anita Ponchione, SEAS Associate Director of Advancement, School Alumni Programs at 202-994-9866 or via email at apytlarz@gwu.edu. |
