About the Site

Thank you for visiting The George Washington University’s new Web site. The second phase of GW’s unified Web site will provide a consistent and easy-to-navigate online user experience within the schools and colleges Web sites.

This rollout is a continuation of a multiyear endeavor aimed at building a unified Web presence across GW. These visitor-focused sites span across many departments, schools, and programs.

While the new design provides a consistent GW brand framework, easy-to-navigate online experience and access to university-wide content, it also allows the flexibility for individual schools and colleges to support diverse and unique needs. The new web pages highlight news and events; featured faculty, students, alumni and publications; quick links to key information about the colleges and schools; and one-stop access to social networking features and blogs.

George Washington’s unified Web presence team is lead by the University’s External Relations division and is composed of staff members from across the University. The upgraded technical platform uses Vignette, an integrated Web content management system that allows content contributors to create, edit, manage, and publish consistent Web content throughout the University.

In the coming months, we will be working to expand the unification effort to include other GW areas. We look forward to incorporating feedback and to continue making improvements everyday.
