About 15% of the students at the GSPM come from other countries,
and the percentage has been growing steadily. We welcome international
students and encourage them to apply to our program.
Students have come from all areas of the world and most countries
to learn the skills of political management so as to improve the
politics of their own countries. Most international students come
to the United States specifically for the purpose of attending the
GSPM. They return home with the skills and knowledge that are needed
to participate in any political arena.
Admittedly, most of the GSPM coursework is set within a context
of democratic politics or the United States. As technology become
increasingly important in society, managing the dynamics of communications
will increasingly necessitate the skills taught at the GSPM, even
while the the context of politics will continue to reflect a country's
unique history, society, economy, culture and laws. GSPM students
who wish to study the politics of their own countries can arrange
to take courses offered at GW by the Elliot
School of International Affairs.
Students who do not have time resources to come to Washington for
a full year may wish to consider the concentrated curriculum of
the Semester
in Washington Program.
