The Graduate School of Political Management is delighted to welcome Margaret Gottlieb as our new Director of Career Programs. As our latest staff addition, “Mag” brings to the Graduate School of Political Management a great combination of career and political skills.
For the past eight years, Mag has served as the Managing Director of Reffett
and Associates, handling business development and conducting searches for
a wide array of clients in and around Washington. She was the first woman to head a retained executive search firm in Washington.
Prior to joining Reffett, Mag had a broad ranging career specializing in federal and state legislative and public affairs. These included positions as the Government Affairs Director for the Direct Marketing Association, as the President of the Washington Area State Relations Group and the Chair of the Congressional Relations Committee of Women in Government Relations. Before moving into her career in the fields of lobbying and executive search, Mag worked both on Capitol Hill and in the Ohio House of Representatives.
Mag also co-authored An Association Guide to Shaping a State Government Relations Program and is frequently quoted in leading print and media outlets. She graduated from the University of Cincinnati with a BA in History and the Cleveland-Marshall College of Law where she was an editor of the law review.
Mag’s responsibilities include advising all of our students and alumni on their career matters, providing a continuing liaison to the alumni community, and developing our professional relations with the employer community. Check out Mag's first series of brown-bag career workshops.
E-mail Mag or call 202-994-8782 for an appointment.
