Academics

The Graduate School of Political Management, under the College of Professional Studies, offers the Master of Professional Studies in Political Management, the Master of Professional Studies in Legislative Affairs, and the Master of Professional Studies in Strategic Public Relations; as well as the Graduate Certificate in PACs and Political Management and the Graduate Certificate in Public Relations. In addition, we offer Semester in Washington, a semester-long academic program for undergraduate students who wish to spend a semester in the nation's capital studying politics and political management.

Many of our outstanding faculty have full-time careers in politics and have had broad political experience in corporate affairs, lobbying, campaigning management, and executive and legislative service. More on our faculty

Master of Professional Studies in the field of Political Management
Students in this program may focus their field of study on Campaign Management, Lobbying and Government Relations, Issues Management and Advocacy, Fundraising, Corporate and Trade Association Public Affairs, Polling and Strategic Research, Political Leadership, and Politics and Public Policy. Master's degree candidates are required to complete 36 credit hours of course work, including the core course requirements, and must complete a 400-hour field work requirement.

Five-Year Joint BA/MPS Program

Master of Professional Studies in the field of Legislative Affairs
Students in this program focus on Congress, its internal operations, its relationship with the executive branch and the judiciary, and the making of public policy. Master's degree candidates are required to complete 33 credit hours of course work, including the core course requirements.

If you are interested in taking a course or two before you formally apply to either masters degree programs, you can enter as a non-degree student.
