C. Social Science Data Archives:
http://www.icpsr.umich.edu/index.html   Inter-university Consortium for Political and Social Research (ICPSR).   Look under both "Topical Archives"  and just "Archives" for information about data sources, and for codebooks for major surveys.  You will not be able to access the actual data from this site, but you can get the much of the US government data (Census, Current Population Survey, etc., online elsewhere.)
