Susan Alison Keady A native Washingtonian, Susan directs and produces theatrical productions and she is an acting and scene study instructor. An educator with extensive experience teaching, she was recently awarded a grant to teach Creative Writing as a guest artist in the Prince George's County School System. Susan regularly works in Arlington and Montgomery County public schools and she is an alumnus of the Wolf Trap Center for Education guest artist series, an internationally known provider of arts-based education programs for educators, performing artists, parents and children. As Artistic Director of Encore Stage & Studio, Susan has directed over 45 shows for Encore and she plays a central role in introducing thousands of families in the Washington area to the magic of the theater. The summer program, Act III has provided a number of university mentorship and intern programs involving students at GWU, nationwide and in England. Her original script of Hansel and Gretel, was produced as part of the National Theater's series for children. She directed over 100 episodes of The Kinetic City Supercrew, a radio adventure series funded by the American Association for the Advancement of Science and currently broadcast on XM radio. The show won the prestigious George Foster Peabody Award for broadcast excellence, as well as numerous gold and silver medals for educational quality and best writing at the International Radio Festival of New York. Susan's Peabody Award commends her outstanding contribution as the program's director. On the stage, Susan has directed over a hundred shows in the metropolitan area. She has appeared as an onstage performer in a variety of roles and she has also worked in films and television programs, as well as in commercials for such companies as Toyota, AT&T, Brooks Athletic Shoes and the “Got Milk” spots with Cal Ripken.
