Kelly Southall

Kelly Moss Southall

Kelly Moss Southall is a professional dancer and educator in the Washington, DC metropolitan area. In 2006, he graduated with honors from Ohio University where he earned a BFA in Dance Performance and Choreography with a focus on Contemporary Dance. Southall is currently in his fourth season with Dana Tai Soon Burgess & Company (DTSB&CO), Washington DC’s premiere Asian American Dance Company, where he is a Performer, the Technical Production Director, and the Education Outreach Coordinator. With DTSB&CO, Southall has been involved in many international dance tours, including tours to Egypt, Israel, Palestine, India, Mexico, and Peru. In addition to performing company repertoire on tour, he has assisted Dana Burgess with daily operations, and in teaching master classes and dance workshops. Southall also teaches dance for the Episcopal High School's Afternoon Dance Program in Alexandria, VA, and tutors young dance students at Georgetown Day School. In Washington DC, Southall's own choreography has been presented on the Kennedy Center Millennium Stage, at Dance Place, and at the Greenberg Theatre. Other performances of his work were presented and honored at both the American College Dance Festival and at Concordia University in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. In 2005, Southall worked in Technical Production at the prestigious and historic Jacobs Pillow Dance Festival. With a secondary specialty in Irish Dance, Southall won the Midwest Championships in Irish dance in 2001, and received an honorary placement at the 2002 World Irish Dancing Championships held in Glasgow, Scotland.
