Elizabeth earned an MFA in Acting from the University of Virginia in 1991. Since then she has been working as a local professional actress, director, scriptwriter and acting teacher. She has been part time Theatre Professor at GW since 1996 and has taught in the Honors Department since 2000. She has also taught several local arts organizations and schools over the past 18 years including The Bethesda Academy of Performing Arts (now Imagination Stage), the Holton Arms Center for the Arts, and Round House Theatre. 

Elizabeth is a founding member and the  Managing Director of Educational Theatre Company (ETC); an Arlington based non-profit outreach Theatre Company. ETC brings Shakespeare and other theatre classes, workshops and camps to Arlington students and communities, and she has been teaching, directing and working on the staff since it's inception in 1998. She has participated in several ETC productions over the years as a teacher, director acting coach, and mentor.

Elizabeth is a member of the Actors Equity Association and has performed at several local theatres. Her acting credits include: Amstel In Tel- Aviv (Source Theatre) for which she won the Outstanding Lead Actress Award at the Source Theatre Festival ; In Good Company: the Power Edition (Horizons Theater), The Invisible Room (the Kennedy Center), Escape from Happiness (Round House), Crossing Delancy (Washington Jewish Theatre) and Vicki in Tomorrowland, a joint production hosted by both Horizons Theatre and Theatre J.

Elizabeth is also scriptwriter. Her script writing experience is mostly in "issue oriented" theatre for both GW and Georgetown University's freshman orientation programs. She has been directing GW's freshman orientation production through their orientation program (Colonial Inauguration) for over 14 years. She also adapts children's stories for the stage. Elizabeth has directed for Offstage Theatre Company, George Washington University, BAPA, Georgetown University and ETC. Her directing credits at GW include An Actors Nightmare, Dentity Crisis, Chamber Music, Acting Xtravaganza , Juvenilia, and The New Plays Festival in 2007 and in 2008. She is scheduled to direct Little Shop of Horrors this fall.
