A professional actor and director, Mr. Wade most recently directed for The Washington Stage Guild Shaw’s Shaw’s Overruled! and for The Bay Theatre, Annapolis, A.R. Gurney’s Love Letters.  For The Olney Theatre Center he directed Steinbeck’s Of Mice and Men, as well as  nine productions for the Center’s National Players Touring Company. Over the last 20 years he has directed five critically-acclaimed productions for The Washington Stage Guild including Beckett’s Happy Days with noted Washington actress June Hansen.   Mr. Wadedirected a staged reading of Anastasia Traina's In Audela with TV's Scott Cohen (Law and Order) for The Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in London. At GW his directing credits include, among many others, a workshop premiere of Rick Chafe’s Shakespeare’s Dog produced in association with The Manitoba Theatre of Canada.

As an actor Mr. Wade has appeared off-Broadway at The Atlantic Theatre and regionally at Baltimore's Center Stage and several Washington, DC, theatres including Arena Stage, The Studio Theatre, Signature Theatre, The Potomac Theatre Project (for which he received a Helen Hayes Award nomination), The Washington Stage Guild and The Olney Theatre. On network television he has been seen on Homicide, A Man Called Hawk and John F. Kennedy and His Times. Mr. Wade's movie credits include The Pelican Brief and Major League II.  He has local and national voice-over credits.

 He has lectured at The Royal Academy of Dramatic Art, at Richmond University, London, and The University of Sussex in Brighton, England. He is a former editor of Literature in Performance and a former associate editor of Text and Performance Quarterly. Mr. Wade is a member of the Board of Directors of The Olney Theatre Center for the Arts and serves on the advisory boards of The Washington Stage Guild and The Potomac Theatre Project.

At GW Mr. Wade teaches “Introduction to Acting” and several scene study courses including contemporary and classical text.   He is the immediate past director of Columbian College’s signature program The Dean’s Scholars in Shakespeare, a former department chair, and a former co-director of The University Teaching Center.
