
Field Trips (SPWM)
One day each week is devoted
to an area of application of mathematics and an associated field trip.
These activities bring the participants into contact with women mathematicians
in their own workplace and expose the participants to current issues at
the forefront of mathematics, the wide variety of applications of mathematics,
the depth and complexity of the kinds of mathematics involved, and the
possibilities for careers related to mathematics.
