As part of the ongoing efforts to ensure the student population is aware of the H&S inspection process, the University has developed a comprehensive communication plan designed to reach both students and parents. In past and current semesters, the plan has included numerous publications and messages in both electronic and hard copy form.

Publications:

  • “Prohibited Items” flyer (download)
    • Distributed at Colonial Inauguration (CI)
    • Distributed at Key Depot Locations and HUB sites at check-in
    • Poster boards at Key Depot Locations
    • Posters on GW Housing Programs boards in all residence halls

  • “Take It Home” mail box stuffer (download)
    • Put in each mail box just before winter break

  • “Fire Education - Candle and Halogen Lamp Education” flyer (view poster 1) (view poster 2)

  • Included in day two CI “Move-In” information sessions presented by GW Housing Programs and Residential Property Management staff
  • Staffed table at CI “Services Fair” with examples of prohibited items and the “Prohibited Items” flyer was available
  • Communication posted on the Parent Services listserve
  • Blast e-mail to the appropriate portion of the University Community, including all students
  • Discussed at mandatory Residence Hall meetings with GW Housing representatives
  • Web sites - links and summaries
