Contract Insurance
Indemnification and insurance is generally required of vendors and service
providers who contract with The George Washington University because their good
or services could result in bodily injury, or property damage and thus expose
the University to loss. The standard indemnification attempts to make the vendors
and service providers contractually responsible for loss which results from
their activities. The types of insurance and limits required are tailored to
the activity and the loss severity potential and not the value of the contract.
Accordingly, Risk Management has prepared the Contract Insurance Manual to familiarize
administrators of contacts with the standard indemnification and insurance required
by the University.
