Chemical Exposure Incident Reporting

In the event of an accident or exposure to a hazardous substance, employees should perform the following procedures:

  1. Wash/irrigate area of exposure.
  2. Clean and contain area to eliminate possibility for other exposures.
  3. Identify chemical of exposure.
  4. Inform Supervisor, who will complete GW's Accident Reporting Kit and any other required forms.
  5. Follow MSDS prescribed exposure/first aid procedures. If necessary, call chemical emergency contact number.
  6. Depending on severity and time of incident, report to Employee Health or Emergency Room.
  7. Follow medical advice as provided.
