Disposal of Biohazard & Hazardous Wastes

Biohazard Waste Disposal Procedures were written to provide general biosafety rules and guidelines to ensure safe laboratory conditions for all members of the university. Refer to the Biohazard Waste Disposal Procedures section for proper disposal information.

The disposal of hazardous chemicals is strictly regulated under the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA), the District of Columbia's Hazardous Waste Regulations, and the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) regulations. The Office of Risk Management has established written procedures for Hazardous Waste Disposal. Refer to the Hazardous Waste Management Plan for these procedures.
