The Secondary M.Ed. consists of a 24-credit hour teacher licensure core, plus 12 additional credit hours to complete the degree. For ESL certification candidates, these core requirements are 33 credit hours with 6 additional credit hours to complete the M.Ed.
Courses cover content ranging from adolescent growth and development to lesson planning and classroom management. The courses required to receive the M.Ed. can be taken during the first years of teaching or can be prior to accepting a teaching position. Link to course descriptions.
