	Policy Perspectives is a scholarly journal published by graduate students in the Trachtenberg School of Public Policy and Public Administration (TSPPPA) at The George Washington University.  The journal provides an opportunity for TSPPPA students, alumni and faculty to publish research based on their studies, and offer their perspective on public policy and its management. Policy Perspectives is distributed nationwide to libraries, policy institutions, researchers and alumni. Announcements Now Hiring Associate Editors for Volume 16 Policy Perspectives is hiring associate editors for Volume 16, which will be published in Spring 2009. Associate editors work closely with our authors to guide articles for through the entire editorial process. Associate editors can also write and edit reviews of recent literature in the policy and administration fields. Working as an associate editor is an exciting and rewarding opportunity that will equip you will skills valuable to a career in public policy or public administration. Please fill out the Associate Editor Application Form and send it, along with a short writing sample, current résumé, and cover letter, to us at polpersp@gwu.edu or drop it off in our mailbox on the sixth floor. The deadline for applications is October 1, 2008. Editors will be chosen by mid-October. Call for Submissions for Volume 16 (Spring 2009) Policy Perspectives is now accepting submissions of student and alumni work for Volume 16. We are looking for pieces of original research and writing on a wide variety of topics including, but not limited to: social policy and welfare, transportation, health, elections and voting, the environment, human rights, law and policy, taxes, state and local governments, homeland security, international relations, urban and rural development, technology, and the military. We are looking for research papers, economic analyses, cost-benefit analyses, policy proposals, and/or book reviews proposals. Please read the submissions guidelines before submitting. Submissions for Volume 16 are due by October 15. Papers submitted after October 15 will be considered for Volume 17, which will be published in May 2010. Please email your submission to polpersp@gwu.edu or drop it off in the Policy Perspectives mailbox on the sixth floor. New Leadership for Volume 16 (2009) Micah Elggren, MPP/JD candidate will be taking the helm of Policy Perspectives for the 2008–2009 academic year as its Editor-in-Chief. Lisa Pettibone, MPA candidate, will be the Managing Editor. Both Mr. Elggren and Ms. Pettibone served as associate editors on Volume 15. In addition to her editorial duties, Pettibone served as the Design Coordinator ushering in a new look for the journal.
