University
Relations Advertising is the central GW office responsible for the
advertising needs of the different departments of the University.
Whether you are recruiting applicants for a degree program, promoting
an open house, planning for an information session, or searching
for participants for a research study, our office is a valuable
resource that can assist you in all aspects of your advertising
campaign. We are a full-service internal ad agency working to promote
The George Washington University and its many program offerings,
locally, nationally, and internationally. Our goal is to assist
the GW community in presenting an effective and unified message.
Our services include the following:
Volume discounts/lowest negotiated rates
Ad campaign consultation and media planning
Ad design services and copy writing
Space reservations with the various media outlets
Publication and media research
Verification of ad placement
Centralized payment services
Proofreading and copyediting of ads
Discounts
By placing the Universitys high volume of advertising through
one centralized office, the different departments of the University
receive increased frequency with premium placements and substantial
volume discounts for their advertising.
Media Relationships
University Relations Advertising has established relationships with
local and national media. We utilize newspapers, magazines, Metro
Rail ads, radio, and the Internet. The Washington Post, Washingtonpost.com,
The Washington City Paper, The Chronicle of Higher Education,
The Wall Street Journal, The New York Times, USA
Today, WRC-AM 1260 Radio, and TDI Metro Rail are a sample of
the mediums we use regularly.
Ad Planning
We can help you plan an ad that will attract a lot of attention
and make every effort to ensure that your room is full for that
open house or whatever event you are planning. We can work with
you to design an ad in-house or with an outside design firm.
Fees
Once all media outlets have been decided on, GW Advertising will
send an ad proposal for your approval (which includes a 5 percent
standard fee of the total cost of reserved ad), place your ads,
do all follow-up, proof your ads and process and record all invoice
billings upon completion.
