BACKGROUND:

"The 2000 Autumn Art Exhibit" will feature selected works by members of the Loudoun Sketch Club.  Founded in 1944 by Vinton Liddell Pickens, the Loudoun Sketch Club is comprised of local artists who specialize in painting, sculpture and related fine arts.  All members are invited to participate in year-round workshops to remain current with new creative techniques.

Presented in cooperation with the Loudoun Arts Council, the GW Virginia Campus Art Exhibit Series regularly features a wide range of fine arts and crafts by local artists who are chosen by a jury of art professionals. The calendar includes three special exhibits to showcase works by students from Loudoun County Public Schools, members of the Loudoun Sketch Club and GW students, faculty and staff.  For each exhibit, the GW Virginia Campus hosts a "Meet the Artists" reception.  To date, the University has hosted more than 44 artist exhibits.
