Background:
Prior to his current position at the INS, James Ziglar was sergeant-at-arms of the United States Senate. His previous positions include managing director of PaineWebber Incorporated; assistant secretary of the interior for water and science; and director of operations for the Bureau of Reclamation, the U.S. Geological Survey and the Bureau of Mines. Prior to that, he worked as an aide to former U.S. Senator James Eastland, served as a public affairs officer at the Department of Justice, and clerked for former U.S. Supreme Court Justice Harry Blackmun.
Ziglar received both his undergraduate degree and his law degree from The George Washington University and is a member of the New York, Washington, D.C., Virginia and Arizona bars.
