Dana Tai Soon Burgess & Company Hyphen This performance marks the premier of Tai Soon Burgess' Exploring the Hyphen. "The piece looks at the experience of being a hyphenated American-Asian, but also other ethnic Americans and multi-racial Americans. The piece questions whether the hyphen connects or separates. The set design includes short black-and-white films from the 1950s by famed video artist Nam June Paik, a Korean American. "They haven't been seen in years," says Burgess.
