2009 International Graduate Student Conference on the Cold War April 24-26, 2009 l London, UK
Hosted by three partner institutions: the Cold War Studies Centre at LSE IDEAS, the George Washington University Cold War Group (GWCW), the Center for Cold War Studies (CCWS) of the University of California Santa Barbara. The 2009 International Graduate Student Conference on the Cold War will be held this year at the London School of Economics.
2008 The First Annual U.S.-China Doctoral Forum on the Cold War July 26-28, 2008 l Shanghai, PRC
In July 2008, the GW Cold War Group (GWCW) began an annual "US-China Doctoral Forum on the Cold War" with the Center for Cold War International History Studies of East China Normal University in Shanghai. Seven doctoral students in history, accompanied by Professors Hope M. Harrison and Gregg Brazinsky, gave presentations on their dissertation research at the conference, as did doctoral students from all over China. The Doctoral Forum will be held at GW in May/June 2009 and again in China in 2010.

The George Washington University Cold War Group (GWCW), the Center for Cold War Studies (CCWS) of the University of California Santa Barbara, and the Cold War Studies Centre (CWSC) of the London School of Economics and Political Science are pleased to announce their 2007 International Graduate Student Conference on the Cold War, to take place at the George Washington University in Washington, D.C. on 19-21 April 2007.

The conference is sponsored by The George Washington Cold War Group (GWCW), the Cold War Studies Centre (CWSC) of the London School of Economics and Political Science, and the Center for Cold War Studies (CCWS) of the University of California Santa Barbara, in cooperation with Cambridge University.
The best paper presented at the event will be published in the journal Cold War History, subject to all revisions required by the editors (website: http://www.lse.ac.uk/collections/CWSC/coldWarHistoryJournal/Default.htm). The conference discussants will provide a first selection, and the final decision will be taken by the directors of the host institutions.

2005 Graduate Student Conference
The George Washington Cold War Group (GWCW), the University of California as Santa Barbara's Center for Cold War Studies, and the London School of Economcs' Cold War Studies Centre held their annual Graduate Student Conference on the Cold War, "The Cold War and Its Contexts," April 29-30, 2005, at the University of California, Santa Barbara. The conference provided an opportunity for graduate students to present papers and receive critical feedback from peers and experts in the field. Each paper had a faculty discussant, and a keynote address was made by a distinguished scholar in the field.

GWCW and University of California at Santa Barbara's (UCSB) Center for Cold War Studies held their Annual Graduate Student Conference on the Cold War at the George Washington University, April 30-May 2, 2004. This year marked the first jointly sponsored conference.
