Prerequisites and Application Process

Students may apply to the HEBDP program through any one of the following:

Applicants to the HEBDP should have advanced undergraduate training similar to that required for pre-medical students, with courses in Biology and/or Biological Anthropology, and with some coursework in fields such as Anthropology, Chemistry, Geology, Mathematics, and Physics. Backgrounds in other cognate scientific fields including Engineering and Statistics are also encouraged. Depending on a student's interests and prior training, s/he may be required to take additional courses upon admission.

We especially welcome applications from minority and women candidates.

Eligible doctoral students in the HEBDP will be considered for up to five years of full funding (stipend plus tuition). Funds are also earmarked for graduate student research (including travel) and summer salaries.
