Cute Without the E: Emocapella's First Movie
For Emocapella's first "stand alone" show, we wanted to do something really funny and special. So we put together this five
minute silent comedy to show at the intermission of our 12 song set. This short film was shot in about 5 minutes without a
real script or any rehearsals, but in the end it turned out very successful. People really seemed to respond to the film when
we showed it at intermission. Many people were in hysterics and told us they thought it was great, which was a nice thing to
hear and definitely helped make our show something fun for everyone.
The film tells the story of Brian, showing a day in his life as he tries aimlessly to win the heart of the anonymous "girl next door," who rejects him
at every turn. But who will get rejected once Brian becomes a member of a nationally acclaimed group of super nerds? We'll see.
The film stars Emocapella member Brian Becker, along with appearances by Dave Shapanka, Ben Ming and the rest of the group. It was
directed and shot by Dan Riesser. Edited by Dan Riesser with help from Jon Reiling. The music is Scott Joplin's "The Entertainer."
The movie is available in WMV format (requires Windows Media Player v6 or higher). Enjoy the movie, and don't forget to also
check out the "Behind the Scenes" featurette starring Brian Becker!
