The
Energy Situation in Brazil
Dr.
Nelson Hubner, Director General of Brazil's Energy Regulatory Agency, ANEEL
(Agência Nacional de Energia Elétrica), will deliver a presentation
on the general energy situation in Brazil. Dr. Hubner is a specialist in
the energy sector, with 30 years experience in policy making, regulation
activities
and system operation engineering of power utilities. His experience covers
a wide scope of activities related to national management of the energy and
mineral sectors in Brazil, including aspects of energy security and the development
of key public policies. Mr. Hubner assumed the position of Director General
of ANEEL in 2009 for the period 2009-13, with the possibility of renewal
for a further four years.
